About Climate Integrity

Climate Integrity is a not-for-profit research and advocacy organisation working to close the corporate climate integrity gap in Australia by advocating for science, transparency, accountability and justice in the transition to zero emissions. Our vision is for Australian business climate action that is transparent, accountable and accelerating rapidly in line with the science of 1.5 degrees.

The role

As Head of Corporate Accountability you will help drive a new era of high-integrity climate action and leadership from Australia’s largest companies. You will be a senior leader who can help develop and implement multi-faceted and impactful strategies to improve integrity and accountabtiliy in corporate transitions to zero emissions. You will engage directly with some of the nation’s largest companies, industry associations, and leading experts to identify and address accountability and transparency issues, build and coordinate impactful alliances, and create advocacy campaigns to hold companies to account on their climate comittments.

About you

You are a senior leader, and a strong strategic thinker with a deep understanding of corporate power and climate policy in Australia. You will have excellent communication and networking skills and the ability to work collaboratively to deliver high-impact outcomes. You’re organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a remote team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and execution of high-impact public campaigns and engagement strategies to drive greater corporate accountability on the biggest integrity issues in net zero, including offsets, the role of gas in the transition and lobbying accountability.

  • Contribute to the overall strategic direction of Climate Integrity and as a member of the senior leadership team and represent Climate Integrity in high level meetings, events, the media and collaboration groups.

  • Lead the development of research, analysis, communications and media strategies that drive awareness or support of key campaign priorities and advance the public narrative on climate integrity.

  • Support and engage a team of analysts, campaigners and media professionals and our wider network of partners to deliver impact towards our campaign strategies.

What you’ll bring to the role

A healthy dose of courage, conviction and commitment - to sustain your leadership on holding Australia’s largest companies and industries to account on the single biggest issue facing the world, using all available levers for change.

Campaign strategy
- 10+ years of relevant experience leading and successful climate or corporate accountability campaign strategies, including experience with public-facing campaign development.

Stakeholder engagement - Ability to identify, build and maintain strategic relationships with companies, industry bodies, NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders, both in Australia and internationally.

Corporate experience - A deep understanding of the landscape of voluntary and mandatory corporate climate commitments and actions. An ability to manage and execute high-level corporate engagement strategies in line with Climate Integrity’s vision and goals.

Communication for influence - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling narratives, write for different audiences, and develop clear cases for change. Capacity to represent the organisation publicly, promote its reputation, and build influence with key stakeholders.

Collaborative mindset - Experience working with a wide range of people from all walks of life to build consensus, foster new relationships and develop a shared understanding of new issues. The ability to work effectively and with autonomy alongside a remote team.

Project and people management - Experience supporting teams to thrive and have impact. Strong project coordination and management skills. Ability to develop and execute plans, monitor budgets and progress, and evaluate projects.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Australian climate policy, corporate climate reporting, or regulatory frameworks.

  • Knowledge of or experience with UNFCCC Conference of Parties or other multilateral climate processes

  • Experience in commissioning or supervising research and analysis.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary within the range of AUD $130,000–$150,000 plus 12% superannuation.

  • A 30 hour 4 day work week, Monday to Thursday, with Fridays currently designated as a non-working day for all staff, plus generous leave entitlements.
